Five automatic Euro 2012 finals berths, including four for group winners, and the race for places in the play-off draw will be settled on Tuesday when the nine groups conclude a final round of fixtures.
England made it through to Poland and Ukraine next summer with a 2-2 draw against Montenegro in Group G and will join reigning European and world champions Spain, as well as Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, in the automatic places.
The race is on for other nations to book their places at next summer’s showpiece tournament on what promises to be a night of nerves and drama.
Group A:
Belgium must match or better Turkey’s result against Azerbaijan when they take on group winners Germany to secure a play-off berth. If they end level, Turkey have the superior head-to-head.
Group B:
Russia only need a point at home to Andorra to make sure of top spot even if Republic of Ireland beat Armenia, who cannot qualify automatically. Even if Russia lose, they could still be best runners-up.
Group C:
Estonia moved into second place on Friday with a 2-1 win over Northern Ireland, who are now eliminated, but have now completed their fixtures so Serbia can still snatch the play-off position by winning in Slovenia.
Group D:
The Paris showdown between leaders France and Bosnia and Herzegovina will decide this group, so the nation which loses this encounter will be in the play-offs.
Group E
Victory for Sweden over the already-qualified Netherlands would mean automatic qualification as best runners-up.
Group F
A draw for Greece in Georgia would ensure the leaders first place regardless of Croatia’s result against Latvia – but the Croats still have the possibility of finishing as best runners-up on goal difference with victory, depending on results elsewhere.
Group G
England secured qualification with a 2-2 draw and Montenegro guaranteed a first-ever play-off because Switzerland lost to Wales.
Group H
Denmark must beat Portugal in Copenhagen to win the group having lost away in Porto and Norway face Cyprus with a hope of second place on goal difference should the Danes win.
Group I
The Czech Republic, with a better head-to-head record, could secure a play-off berth by picking up more points in Lithuania than Scotland manage away to already-qualified Spain.

Arsenal should have the edge when they host Udinese in the first game of a two-legged Champions League qualifier on Tuesday but at a match price of 1/2 it is advised to keep your powder dry.
The Italians could prove slippery customers after raising eyebrows when finishing fourth in Serie A last season but only speculative punters would surely be tempted by the 6/1 about Zebrette given that they are not yet involved in domestic action.
The clue here is that nothing is likely to be decided in north London and the 3/1 about the draw comes into play for two teams stepping into the unknown.
The Gunners imploded late last season in the Premier League so now have the unwanted distraction of facing Italian opposition – a surprise when you consider they have featured in every group stage of Europe’s elite club competition since 1998/99 and can boast an unbeaten run of 10 European home games since a 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the 2009 semi-finals.
They lacked teeth going forward in a tempestuous Premier League opener at Newcastle on Saturday and have also been hit by Cesc Fabregas’ transfer to Barcelona and more conjecture over the future of Samir Nasri.
The fans’ reaction to another relatively quiet window of transfer activity would also suggest manager Arsene Wenger’s previously untouchable status is in the balance.
Udinese’s only previous group stage campaign came in 2005/06 and they too are difficult to pin down because they are in pre-season mode.
A 12-1 friendly win over Serie D whipping-boys SP Tamai is hardly ideal preparation for a European qualifier but an indication they can at least find the net without Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez, a summer capture for Spanish champions Barca.
Midfielder Gokhan Inler has also swapped Udinese for domestic rivals Napoli so it is unclear how the rest of the squad will react in a competitive fixture.
With this in mind, a low goals projection is a logical recommendation – or, better yet, a watching brief ahead of the second leg at Stadio Communale Friuli.

Cesc Fabregas moved a step closer to realising his dream of re-joining Barcelona on Wednesday when it was revealed the Spanish champions have entered into formal talks with Arsenal (6/1 with totesport to win the 2010/11 Premier League).
The Spain midfielder has openly expressed a desire to return to the club he left as a 16-year-old in 2003 and is understood to have told manager Arsene Wenger he wants to move back to his homeland.
“An informal conversation with Arsenal became formal on 1 June and now an official approach has been made to the club,” said a Barca spokesman.
The Catalan giants have long held an interest in Fabregas, who is currently with Spain’s World Cup squad, and have now registered a formal offer for the 23-year-old.
The Barca spokesman added on BBC Sport: “Before 1 June, under English rules, we could not make an official approach to Arsenal for Fabregas, but that changed on Tuesday.
“I don’t think there is a special advance on, say, the price or anything, but it has moved on now.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Xavi insisted he was now “certain” his Spain (21/10 to be Europe’s top team at the World Cup) team-mate would leave north London for the Nou Camp.
“It had to be like this,” said Xavi. “Two years ago, I said Cesc would end up playing for Barcelona, and now it is clearer than ever.
“He has also expressed publicly that he wants to come to Barcelona and when a player wants to move to some place he ends up going. It is clear that Cesc will come to Barcelona.”
Fabregas signed an eight-year contract with the Gunners in 2006 but has made no secret of his desire to play for Barcelona.
Barca director general Joan Oliver revealed on the club’s official website: “Everyone knows that Cesc wants to play with Barca and everyone knows we want him to sign but here there is a third actor that is Arsenal.
“Yesterday [Tuesday] we presented a concrete offer and have written to Arsenal.”
The vice-president of the Catalan club, Rafael Yuste, added: “We are hoping we can sign Cesc as soon as possible.
“I am optimistic. It is clear that he is family and we would greet his return with a warm embrace. For this reason we don’t want to do anything that would harm his signing. We don’t want to rush but neither will we stop.”
Fabregas would become Barca’s second major signing of the summer following the capture of Spain team-mate David Villa for £34m from Valencia.
Marcello Lippi’s provisional 30-man squad has been confirmed, with a blend of experience and fresh talent, la Nazionale will be hopeful of retaining the Cup they won in 2006.
Roma forward Luca Toni has been dropped, as has Juventus’ Nicola Legrottaglie. Giuseppe Rossi of Villarreal is newly included. To be expected, Roma’s Daniele De Rossi has been picked for the squad despite missing out on the training programme last week due to the Coppa Italia final.
Here is the full squad list as confirmed by the FIGC.
Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon, Morgan de Sanctis, Federico Marchetti, Salvatore Sirigu
Defenders: Fabio Cannavaro, Fabio Grosso, Giorgio Chiellini, Gianluca Zambrotta, Domenico Criscito, Christian Maggio, Salvatore Bocchetti, Mattia Cassani, Leonardi Bonucci

The current holders of the World Cup, Italy are fairly long odds at 15.00 to retain the World Cup in South Africa. A host of other nations including Holland (13.00), Germany (13.00), and England (7.00) are shorter odds than the Italians.
Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon believe Italy have a good chance of winning the trophy due to the expertise and high calibre within the squad.
“We have many experienced players. I say we are experts, not old. Looking how we can play at high levels for long periods, we can go far in the competition,” Pirlo recently said during an interview.
It has to be said that the odds on Italy are likely to go down rapidly should they get some good results prior to the tournament. So back them now at a fat 15.00 to lift the World Cup with PartyBets.com.

Leo Messi and Xavi turned in star performances on Saturday night to claim a 4-1 win against Villareal in what looked like being a tricky fixture for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Villareal did indeed pose a threat early on with Brazilian Nilmar missing two great chances after some excellent individual skill but the truth was that Barcelona were simply too good.
As soon as Messi registered the first goal the confidence grew and Villareal were helpless against the individual quality on show in the Barcelona shirt. Xavi scored a magnificent free-kick from 30 yards out to make it 2-0 and put Barcelona on their way to an important three points in the quest for La Liga success.
Now Barcelona must take another step towards winning the league title with what should be a straight forward win at the Nou Camp against relegation threatened Tenerife tonight.
Tenerife earned themselves a life line at the weekend with a 2-1 win at home against fellow relegation fodder Racing Santander. The victory has taken them to just two points behind the three sides immediately above them. They certainly have something to play for when they travel to Camp Nou.
As far as Barcelona are concerned, they will be delighted to be playing a side they have managed to score 13 goals past – without reply – in the last three meetings. Back in October Barcelona routed Tenerife 5-0 with Messi grabbing a hat-trick. A similar score line could be on the cards this time round too.
Back Barcelona to win 4-0 which is available at 7.50
